Dance Drama The Dream of the Red Chamber Hits NYC for Chinese New Year

After making history by presenting 42nd Street as the first Broadway show to tour the People's Republic of China, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment is now bringing China's Beijing Friendship Dance Company to New York City. The award-winning company will present its The Dream of the Red Chamber: The Dance at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center on February 8 and 9 in celebration of the Chinese New Year.
Directed and choreographed by Zhao Ming with a score by Academy Award winning composer Su Cong, The Dream of the Red Chamber: The Dance follows the tragic story of love and marriage amongst its three main characters: Baoyu, Daiyu and Baochai, the honored scions of a noble family. It is adapted from the book of the same name, one of China's greatest literary works.
The Dream of the Red Chamber: The Dance is being presented by Shanghai City Dance, Ltd. With Shanghai International Cultural and Communication Associate and the Eastern Shanghai International Cultural Film and Television Group in association with Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, LLC and supported by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York.
